Job Summary
Nantucket New School seeks a dynamic, student-centered Third Grade Teacher who is passionate about fostering foundational academic skills through evidence-based literacy instruction, conceptual math practices, and authentic, hands-on learning experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare subject-specific, developmentally-appropriate lessons.

Provide instruction in an interactive learning environment.

Collaborate with other teachers in a community of lifelong learners.

Manage student behavior to foster a culture of belonging, encourage personal responsibility, and nurture intellect and individuality in all students.

perform non-teaching duties in order to support and assist students and the school as assigned

observe and evaluate every student's academic and social and emotional growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports

communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' academic progress as well as their social and emotional growth
Essential Teacher Qualifications

Deep knowledge of subject matter, including science of reading, Singapore math, and project-based learning

Able to differentiate instruction for a range of learning styles

Able to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students and families

Strong communication skills with students, employees, and parents

Open to feedback and continuous growth

Creative in instructional and classroom management strategies

Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, flexible

Bachelor's degree, with a Master’s degree preferred

Coursework in education is not required, nor is certification
