Tuition & Financial Assistance

The benefits of a Nantucket New School education - exceptional teachers, small classes, individualized attention, and ability to adapt to changing environments - are invaluable, and the investment can be significant. We encourage families who are unable to afford full tuition to apply for financial assistance.

Tuition 2023-2024

Preschool: $15,192
Kindergarten - Grade 8: $19,497

Tuition is set by the Board of Trustees in January for the following year. Re-enrollment contracts, including tuition and payment option information, are available in late January to all current families. Tuition is set for one year only and annual increase should be expected.

Payment Options

While deposit must be paid in full directly to the school by the required date, the school offers many payment plans for the remaining tuition balance through Blackbaud Tuition Management. If you have any questions, please contact Lori Corry, Chief Financial Officer.

Financial Assistance

All financial assistance awards are based upon a family’s demonstrated need as assessed by the School & Student Service by NAIS (SSS by NAIS). Awards vary based upon a family’s demonstrated need and the resources available in the School’s financial assistance budget.

How to apply: All financial assistance paperwork must be submitted by Friday, January 31, 2024. Applications submitted after February 1 will be reviewed individually as received and as financial assistance funding is available. To apply for financial assistance or receive additional information about financial aid, parents can access the SSS by NAIS website.

The procedure for applying for financial assistance for the 2024-2025 academic year requires that candidates’ families submit the following forms:

  • SSS by NAIS Parent’s Financial Statement (PFS), filed online on the SSS by NAIS Website. When you fill out the application, indicate that you wish to have your application sent to Nantucket New School, code 2693. Click here to learn how to complete the Parents Financial Statement (PFS) online.
  • A copy of parents’ and student’s, if applicable, 1040 tax form for 2023 and all schedules and supporting documentation, including a copy of all W-2s. No award will be granted until the final 2023 tax form and supporting documentation have been received. The final 1040 tax forms for 2023 must be received by Friday, February 23, 2024.
  • For parents who are separated or divorced, a copy of your former spouse’s 1040 and supporting documentation, including the W-2.

Families may not have completed 2023 taxes by the January 31st deadline. In this case, you may submit the final 2022 Federal Tax Return or a draft copy of your 2023 taxes. The final copy must be received by Friday, February 23, 2024. Awards will not be guaranteed until a copy of the final 2023 Federal Tax Return has been received.
