News & Updates 10/3/25

From Amy:

Hello October!  The routines of school are settling into place and the days have been busy, but calm. Learning is happening, students and teachers are happy, and it’s fun to share Morning Meetings as a community.  I enjoyed leading the Early and Lower School meeting on Tuesday morning, singing songs together. We had a number of guests from the community visit us at Morning Meeting today to speak about their Hispanic heritage in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (9/15-10/15). Thank you to Emma (6th) and Olivia (7th) for leading QCAs in Spanish, and many thanks to Valeria for organizing!

Stories from Campus:
  • Kindergarten teachers Kimmie and Aly said that Willy (K) was on fire this week, from cutting to his penmanship. They're so proud! They also reported that kindergarten had their first snack with their big friends, and it went really well. Hazel (K) and Phoebe (7th) have connected quickly!
  • PK teacher Katie wanted to give Bailey (PK) a shout out! She is helpful and thoughtful and a great community member. Megan reported that FiFi (PK) is already planning her costume for the pre-K Halloween parade.
  • It's an important milestone in pre-K when students start actively collaborating in imaginative play with friends rather than parallel play, which is when they play next to their friends. Megan reported that several students are having a breakthrough week with collaborative play, including Connor (PK) and Kai (PK)!
  • PK teacher Cate said that all the preschoolers have been loving their PE classes with Regan. On Thursdays, the whole pre-K has PE together, and they have been listening attentively and participating enthusiastically. Kenzie (PK) and Malcolm (PK) are stepping up as leaders!
