From Todd:

Well, the campus had one day off after graduation, and this week Strong Wings opened for the summer. It is a busy place again, and filled with joyful children enjoying themselves on a beautiful day.

Although the weather did not cooperate for us during the last week of school, we pivoted a bit, and all of our events went off without a hitch. The Boys and Girls club was nice enough to let us use their space for field day, and the kids had a great time. I want to thank TJ at Nantucket Party Rentals for his help and flexibility as we navigated all these changes. In the end, the weather was not right for outdoor events, and under TJ’s guidance I think we made the right decision. The team at the Dreamland was great to work with at the last minute, and we held a very impressive graduation in their main theater. Finally, without a tent for last Friday’s summer Kickoff Party, we shifted the event to Cisco, and as always they were a joy to work with. Thanks to everyone who helped us put on the year end celebrations- it truly does take a village.

The 8th grade graduation speeches were some of the very best I have heard at the New School. I was so proud of this group as they reflected on their experiences and engaged with the audience in a confident way. The entire community looks forward to these speeches, and the class of 2022 did not disappoint. They spoke about challenges and successes with equal gusto, and they celebrated family, friends, and staff. Alicia led the student speech preparations, and I want to give all the 8th graders a final thank you for all their year end efforts.

And to the Full New School Community- Thanks for all of your support throughout the year. It has been an amazing time, and the future is brighter still. Have a great summer, and I hope to see you around the island!!
Ever Grateful,
Todd Eveleth
