From Danielle:Kindergarten Lessons Recently, the kindergarten class read Never Smile at Monkey, by Steve Jenkins, about important things to remember. They also studied the cut-paper collage style of Steve Jenkins, and others like Eric Carle. They each thought about what lessons they’d like to share with the school- some more specific than others! One kindergartener wrote, “Always wear your seat belt,” while another wrote “Always remember to use the bathroom when you have to go.” This observant kindergartener included a very detailed toilet collage, and you can guess our Great Hall rumbled with encouraging laughter. ![]() Student Admissions Ambassadors This year, we began a student admissions ambassador program, led by 8th grade students Roan and Annabelle. Slowly, the program has grown, and they’re starting to recruit the rising 7th graders. Giving prospective families the opportunity to ask questions and hear thoughtful answers from these 13 and 14 year olds has been the highlight of my year. Most ambassadors have been students here since pre-kindergarten, and they shine when they’re able to tell stories about the time they slept over at school in second grade, or their STEM-X project. I most appreciate the stories of their experience growing up here with their classmates, and how they feel like siblings. Save the date! It’s been too long since the Harvest Bash! We’re planning a fun and informal parent social on Friday, March 24, from 5-7 p.m. in the Strong Wings building. We’ll have some snacks and drinks and if it’s cold enough, we’ll enjoy a fire in that beautiful stone fireplace. Based on the weather today, we may be ready for air conditioning by then! Warmly, ![]() Danielle Henry Beale Assistant Head of School for Advancement |
