Another busy week at New School!
It has been wonderful hearing from each 8th grader this week as they share their community service projects. What’s been impressive is the range of service projects undertaken, from working at Nantucket’s Food Bank to organizing clothing to teaching children how to swim or skate. Each 8th grader has impacted our community by volunteering for over 20 hours this year.
Next week, the 8th graders are off to Washington, DC for their culminating trip. They’ll be adventuring to the monuments and museums, sharing in one last learning experience together. We’ll be holding down the fort at school, finishing up group projects, taking final field trips, and celebrating the successful completion of a super year of learning together.
It’s likely to be a busy weekend on Nantucket – hopefully, the weather will improve for the unofficial launch of summer! Enjoy!
